20.02.13 - Doors are on . . .

It has been a busy week. Lots of phone calls and discussions about paint and tiles and carpentry and doors . . . the carpenter has put up the majority of the architraves, skirting boards, window trims etc and doorways are in and the doors have been hung, they still need to be painted.  But we think they are fantastic!

So the carpenter will finish soon then the tiler will start next week, followed by interior painting, then the kitchen goes in . . .

Wow . . . we had a phone call from our painter today asking us if we had seem our house lately... 'no' ... 'well you best get out here and take a look, it is gorgeous'.
And it is indeed. We are a little (a lot) excited now!

03.02.13 - We have walls and wooden beams . . .

Wow!! We went out to the house yesterday not expecting much to have changed and we were blown away...

The gyrocking on the internal walls is all but done and we have some beautiful timber beams to the front porch . . .  and corbeling/trim around the front windows.

Now we are really getting excited!!
Wooden beams have been installed on the front porch. . .  love them!!

27.01.13 - Electrical check. . .

Today we walked through the house (already starting to feel like a house and no longer a building site) and checked all the plates for powerpoints and light switches are in place. We noticed 1 powerpoint missing, 1 near the floor instead of at bench height in the pantry and realised we forgot to include a light switch for the hallway (when you step in from the garage). . .  a very well worth exercise.

We had our first meal in the dining space while working on site today and had our first visitors join us for a tour and the chance to kick back and help us realise what will soon be our house.

Our first meal. . .

25.01.13 - We have a roof . . .

We have a roof!!
I was blown away by the height and the pitch of the roof (soooo high) from inside.

Looking towards master bedroom (front of house to the left)

Under the alfresco - bricks being cleaned

We have a roof!!

We meet our Site Supervisor (SS) early this morning on site to sort a lighting location issue. We have a steel beam running right down the middle of the hallway which means we can't have any lights in the centre. So we have to change to 2 rows of lights further apart (an additional 3 downlights I think).

While we were on site today the bricks were being cleaned (can't wait for the bag n paint to happen) and we had a great update with our SS. Next week should be the start of gyprock, insulation, carpenter, water proofing, more from the electrician... it's all happening. We have about 8 or 9 weeks to go until completion.

Our SS is an absolute gem. We are very blessed to have one of the best there is.
